  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz egg noodles, cooked according to package instructions
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

  • Mixing spoon
  • 9×13 inch baking dish
  • Cooking pot for boiling noodles
  • Colander


Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.


Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the ground beef, and cook until softened.

Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-10 minutes.


In the prepared baking dish, layer half of the cooked noodles, followed by half of the meat sauce. Repeat with the remaining noodles and meat sauce.

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the casserole.


Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.


Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, before serving.
